Vaazhndhu Kaattuvom Project (formerly Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project - TNRTP) is an innovative World Bank assisted Project that aims at rural transformation through strategies that look beyond poverty alleviation by building sustainability and prosperity of rural communities through rural enterprise promotion, access to finance and employment opportunities in the selected blocks of Tamil Nadu.
The Project will build on existing institutional capital and investments made by TNEPRP, TNSRLM and NRLP.
The Project will be operational in 120 blocks covering 3,994 village panchayats spread across 31 districts of Tamil Nadu.
The proposed Project Development Objectives (PDO) are to promote rural enterprises, access to finance, and create employment opportunities in selected blocks of Tamil Nadu.

An enterprise owned by an individual or more than one individual in partnership.
Producers who are primarily engaged in farm, off farm and non- farm sectors that are already identified and mobilized into Producer Groups (PGs).

Producer Collective is a formal higher level collective of Producers for aggregation, value addition, marketing and service provisioning for economies of scale.
Individual (Differently abled and vulnerable) must belong to the Vaazhndhu Kaattuvom Project implementing block and should have been involved in an enterprise at least for 6 months.
CAP will support Nano and Micro enterprises in rural areas that are facing a crisis owing to the reduced economic activities and changed business scenario from COVID-19 and the lockdown. Interested and Eligible entrepreneur / enterprise shall apply here with relevant documents
In the Working Group meeting held on 29.11.2022 at Karur District Collectorate, the District Collector Dr. T. Prabushankar I.A.S. handed over Rs.41.62 lakh as financial assistance to 12 entrepreneurs for starting new business and for strengthening existing enterprises.
1200 members of the ‘Sreerangam Banana Producer Company, Trichy, have received project assistance of Rs. 9.19 lakhs under innovation promotion grant, for value addition and marketing of banana products.
Pudukotai District Collector Tmt. Kavitha Ramu I.A.S released funds for various VKP-supported schemes such as the community farm and skill schools, producer groups and individual entrepreneurs.
A three-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme was organised for the Enterprise Community Professionals by VKP in Chennai. The programme was inaugurated by Tmt. Divya Dharshini I.A.S (CEO- VKP), along with Tmt. Aruna I.A.S (COO-PM), Mr. Aruljothi Arasan ADRD (COO-PI), Mr. Muthu Raman (Additional director- EDI), and Mr. Elango, (RJD-MSME).
Madurai District Collector Dr. Aneesh Sekhar I.A.S visited community skill school for banana fibre at Thulayapatti panchayat and interacted with 25 beneficiaries.
In Trichy District, Hon’ble Minister for Municipal Administration, Urban and Water Supply Thiru. K. N Nehru and Hon’ble Minister for School Education Thiru. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi presented start up fund to 10 VKP-supported Producer Groups during the occasion of Trichy Vision Document Release.
Cuddalore District Collector Thiru. K Balasubramaniam I.A.S distributed MGP loan to four individuals amounting to Rs. 11 lakhs, for scaling up their business.
Project team, The world Team & International Finance Corporation interacted with the members of SHG, PLF, beneficiaries of Covid Assistance Package in Vikravandi and Koliyanur blocks in Villupuram district.
At the World Bank Retreat Event , VKP- CEO, The World Bank and Project team interacted with beneficiaries in Padur and Thandarai in Chengalpattu district about project activities and their future plans.
Tmt. P. Amudha I.A.S, Principal Secretary to GoTN, the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department and Tmt. S. Dhivyadarshini I.A.S CEO-VKP, visited Melur village Panchayat, Madurai district to interact with the 24 jute bag project beneficiaries about the training given to them under CSS.
VKP’s SHG beneficiaries showcased their products at the Saras Mela, which is an initiative of the Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women, from September 6 to 18.
