Vaazhndhu Kaattuvom Project (formerly Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project - TNRTP) is an innovative World Bank assisted Project that aims at rural transformation through strategies that look beyond poverty alleviation by building sustainability and prosperity of rural communities through rural enterprise promotion, access to finance and employment opportunities in the selected blocks of Tamil Nadu.
The Project will build on existing institutional capital and investments made by TNEPRP, TNSRLM and NRLP.
The Project will be operational in 120 blocks covering 3,994 village panchayats spread across 31 districts of Tamil Nadu.
The proposed Project Development Objectives (PDO) are to promote rural enterprises, access to finance, and create employment opportunities in selected blocks of Tamil Nadu.

Producers who are primarily engaged in farm, off farm and non- farm sectors that are already identified and mobilized into Producer Groups (PGs).

Producer Collective is a formal higher level collective of Producers for aggregation, value addition, marketing and service provisioning for economies of scale.
Individual (Differently abled and vulnerable) must belong to the Vaazhndhu Kaattuvom Project implementing block and should have been involved in an enterprise at least for 6 months.
CAP will support Nano and Micro enterprises in rural areas that are facing a crisis owing to the reduced economic activities and changed business scenario from COVID-19 and the lockdown. Interested and Eligible entrepreneur / enterprise shall apply here with relevant documents
A 10-day convergence training began at Podangupatti Panchayat, Trichy. RSETI training 35 participants to make incense sticks, phenyl, etc. 20 already part of an EG. District team offers market linkages & technical support in skill building for the rest to start enterprises
#Vaazhndhu Kaattuvom Project, Chennai entered into a MoU with #TNAU, Coimbatore, #TANUVAS, Chennai, #MSSW, Chennai and EDII-TABIF. This collaboration would link ‘lab to land and land to lab’, help #women #farmers increase productivity and also reduce input-cost in farming livestock and allied sectors
With start-up fund of Rs.75K from Vaazhndhu Kaattuvom Project-Thoothukudi, Shakti Enterprise Group with 18 women opened a centre in Thoothukudi Block to sell milk from indigenous breed. Team gave support in getting UDYAM registration, branding & labelling, accounts maintenance, group management etc
On World Pulses Day (10 February), TNRTP-Virudhunagar and KVK organised a programme at KVK premises in Aruppukkottai. It focused on varieties of #pulses and their #nutritional aspects seed hardening, inter-crop cultivation, value addition of pulses, seed treatment and soil application. 40 #SPARKs participated in it. A handbook titled ‘Pulses Package of Practices’ was released by KVK’s Regional Director
TNRTP-Trichy has enabled livelihood linkages for 20 visually challenged women beneficiaries with a coir factory that exports tablets of compressed coir waste. Beneficiaries have to fill packets with coir waste & place it on a mat. They earn Rs.100-200/day each.
The CEO-TNRTP, Tmt. Pallavi Baldev I.A.S., visited a CSS training prog on Aari embroidery being held at Inamkariyandhal Centre, Tiruvannamalai, since 5 Jan. She interacted with participants & enquired about their future plans in forming Enterprise Groups

Funding, schemes for SHGs in Tiruvallur

RSETI- Pudukottai provided free training in making jute bags to 20 new women entrepreneurs.
In Nagapattinam, RSETI trained 27 women beneficiaries in tailoring for a month in August.
National Academy of RUDSETI conducted ‘Domain Skill Trainers’, a 2-day training-cum–certification programme at the Indian Bank RSETI, in Dharmapuri district.
A training course on Mobile Phone Service for candidates identified via PGP was inaugurated. The District Collector visited the RSETI bazaar, where handicraft products made by youth (trained by TNRTP & RSETI) were being sold.
Hon’ble Speaker Thiru.M.Appavu, Speaker of the TN Assembly, and Hon’ble Minister Thiru.K.R.Periakaruppan, Department of RD&PR, visited Tirunelveli district on July 15, and reviewed schemes in the RD dept. The Hon’ble Minister also distributed Rs.46.95 lakh to 132 project beneficiaries.
